Varamiespalvelu to acquire BI-IT Solutions, a supplier of IT professionals

The network of top professionals to be expanded to Sweden and Denmark

VMP Group (Varamiespalvelu-Yhtiöt) is acquiring the business of BI-IT Solutions Ltd Oy, a specialist in IT resourcing and recruiting. The company has operations in Helsinki, Oulu and London. By acquiring BI-IT, VMP Group strengthens its position in the business of supplying and recruiting experts in special fields.

– The acquisition is in line with VMP Group’s strategic objective that we want to be involved in the development of working-life resources and find new ways of doing work. It is already a well-established practice in the IT sector that top professional sell their expertise through network enterprises to such employers and projects that they find interesting. These people operate in a virtual network economy and, unlike people before them, they no longer want to commit themselves to working with one single employer, explains Mika Kaukonen, Managing Director of VMP Group.

BI-IT Solutions Ltd Oy was established in 2009 and has a staff of four. All employees will continue in the company and three key persons will be made shareholders, allowing them to become even more committed to its future success.

– Despite the fact that we are a new company, all our staff members have many years’ experience in Finland and internationally. We have acted as coordinators for work subcontracted by large companies and have supplied subcontractor staff. With our extensive networks and a novel approach to business, we have expanded our operations rapidly, says Tom Laine, Managing Director of BI-IT Solutions Ltd Oy.

Operations to expand to other Nordic Countries

According to Laine, the total IT resourcing and recruiting market in the Nordic area in 2008 was at least EUR 500 million.

– At the moment, there are few operators in the region with the same business approach as BI-IT Solutions Ltd Oy. However, the demand for resourcing services has been growing rapidly. Our aim is to start operations in Sweden and Denmark in the next few years and then expand to other important European markets, explains Kaukonen.

BI-IT Solutions Ltd Oy aims to increase its turnover to about eight million euros during the next three years.

– Our competitive advantage is based on the fact that with our extensive international network we can supply our customers with experts in areas that are only mastered by a handful of people. For our customers this means benefits in productivity, quality and risk management. For the specialists, our concept provides an opportunity to select the projects that suit them best and to influence their own workload. Unlike traditional personnel services companies, we supply experts who work as sole proprietors or have a business of their own and use us as their external sales and marketing channel, explains Laine.
